I was born in East Los Angeles in the late 1960's. I grew up all over LA, from the Eastside to the Westside: Boyle Heights, Venice, Santa Monica, Culver City, Lennox, and Inglewood. As an Adult I've lived in Los Feliz and Echo Park. I am proud to be from La Ciudad de Los Angeles/ The City of Angels.

My Grandfather Jose de Jesus legally immigrated to Los Angeles, California from Zacatecas, Mexico in the 1920's. As a young man he worked on the construction of our Famous Los Angeles City Hall Building Downtown, he was a day laborer/concrete worker. My Father was a Gardener here in Los Angeles. When I was Kid growing up in the 1970's & 1980's my Dad would take my Brother and I to work with him on his Gardening Route all over LA, during our Summer Vacations. We got to know a lot of different neighborhoods and people of our City, from Lennox to Beverly Hills. On  Sundays our Mother and Father would take us to Church Downtown at La Placita Mission de Nuestra Señora La Reina de Los Angeles Catholic Church at Olvera Street. We would have lunch at Olvera Street or Cliftons Cafeteria, we would shop for clothes on Broadway, then we would see a movie at one of The Great Classic Downtown Movie Theaters. I have many fond memories of those days. I have Images of the Downtown Buildings, Businesses, Restaurants, Bars, and People that I saw back then, still in my mind.  Some of them are still there, like if time stood still, some are long gone distant memories.

In the early 1990's I bought a used 35mm film SLR still photo camera and a used 8mm film movie camera from a second hand thrift store. I studied Photography at Santa Monica College and Cinema/Filmmaking at Los Angeles City College. I pointed my Lenses Downtown and started photographing and filming Downtown LA. I started capturing images of Downtown before they were all gone.  I recently started photographing events and shows happening in Los Angeles and posting them on my website. I am fascinated with the History and Culture of Los Angeles.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my website , I hope you like my photos.

Thank You,
